Greenmax Tree Transplant is used to provide trees and shrubs with useful mycorrhiza fungi when being (trans)planted. The product contains strong strains of endo- and ecto-mycorrhiza fungi that colonize and strengthen the roots of transplanted trees and bushes under various growth conditions. The live spores have been mixed with water-absorbing gel to prevent dryness stress.
In addition Tree Transplant contains humus acids, yucca and kelp extracts that stimulate a speedy growth of new roots.
The principle
Mycorrhiza fungi play an essential role in the growing of all plants under natural circumstances. They create the living connection between the absorption root system and the soil ecology.
Extensive field studies - among others performed by the University of Michigan, Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories - have shown that the presence of useful mycorrhiza fungi greatly increases survival, growth percentage and resistance against disease in trees and shrubs compared to trees without or with few mycorrhizae. This applies in particular to trees and shrubs that grow in stressful circumstances like in cities, on poor soils and in other poor habitat conditions.
